James T. Humphrey (Retired)
After founding the firm in 1982, then known as Humphrey, Jones, & Myers, James T. (“Jim”) Humphrey has retired after a long and illustrious career. Jim practiced primarily in the areas of government, administrative, real estate, and land use law until he was elected Mayor of the City of Fort Myers in 2000, a position he held until November, 2009. Jim is former counsel to the Lee Memorial Health System Board of Directors, a public body, and the Lee County Industrial Development Authority, a public body. Before founding the firm, Jim was the first full-time attorney for Lee County. He also served as Trustee of Hodges University, as a member of the Board of Directors of Encore National Bank, and as a member of the Board of Directors of Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center.
