Associate Speaks on Affordable Care Act

Mary E. Briedé,  Associate of Knott Ebelini Hart, was invited by the National Business Institute to speak on the Patient Protection Affordable Care Act at a seminar on human resource law on September 17, 2014.  The Patient Protection Affordable Care Act is more commonly known as the Affordable Care Act and is often referred to as healthcare reform or Obamacare.  Mary presented on how the Affordable Care Act applies to employers, both large and small, on topics including the employer mandate, the Health Insurance Exchange and the SHOP Marketplace, the small business tax credit, and employer reporting and disclosure obligations under the Affordable Care Act.

Mary practices in the firm’s commercial litigation group and also focuses on business planning and health care law.  Mary graduated from the University of Minnesota — Twin Cities in Minneapolis with a Bachelor of Science in Child Psychology, cum laude.  She received her law degree from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota.
